Sunshine, Keeneland, & Try Out Number 4

Friday, April 25, 2014

How happy are y'all that those awful polar vortex days are behind us? Minus that one depressing day last week where we did see a bit of snow…Ohio weather at its finest right? Its been a busy month that has consisted of a trip to Keeneland, my final cheer tryout, finals week, and my 22nd birthday.

I had never been to Keeneland before but I had always wanted to go. It was opening weekend and although it was less busy on the Sunday that we went, the stands were still pretty full. It is a culture that I had never been exposed to but I loved every second it. I highly recommend that everyone to go at least once. The architecture and beauty of this park was amazing. It's only a little over an hour from Cincy and probably two hours from Dayton…we're so close to all that southern charm! It's as much of a people watching event as it is a horse racing event. I believe there were about 8-9 races through out the day, and with about 20 minutes before the race people line up and bet on the horses. I am still not an expert on this, but it was my first time so I had to bet on something. I gave Dane $2.00 for him to go and bet for me and he ended up winning me $6.20…woohoo! I  mean that's two caramel macchiatos. Worth it.

So that fourth cheer try out ehh?? I didn't know at the beginning of the school year what I was going to do as far as cheering for my fourth year (fifth year school wise.) The reason I wasn't going to do it was because all though it was my third year cheering it was my fourth year of doing a college sport. (Including my one year of track and field at Youngstown Sate) After four years of doing a college sport I thought I might want a year to myself. Welllllll after talking with my mom and coaches I realized that I couldn't go to a UC game as an undergrad and just watch. Plus we play Ohio State at the Shoe and it's a night game at that. So last weekend I went though my last tryout ever and I am so excited about the new people who we have brought in and I'm about the upcoming season. Go Cats!

I hope you all had a Happy Easter and a lovely weekend. My friend Caitlin and I are working at the DAAP Fashion Show tonight and yes...we're making an appearance down the run way as cheerleaders modeling athletic wear. I am not sure our height matches the rest of the models that were brought in haha okay more details to come!

This is where I went for my birthday. It's this really cute Italian place in OTR called Zula. Highly recommend it!

Part of my final drawing project-I tried to be like Degas...he's just too good y'all

This has nothing to do with what I was talking about above. Just thought I'd show my new spring decor!
