Life of a Cincy Chick: About Me

Hi, I am Tessa! Welcome to my blog. The vision for this blog started back to my sophomore year of college. Fast forward a year from then and I finally started Life of a Cincy Chick. I believe that the city of Cincinnati has made me into the person I am today. I love everything about this wonderful place and want to share my adventures with you. I have the blessing of getting to cheer for the University of Cincinnati or commonly known as the #HottestCollegeInAmerica. I am a fine arts major for the school of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning. Getting to paint, draw, and create work while getting a degree is a dream come true. My passions include my faith, traveling anywhere, doodling everywhere, exploring through other people's blogs, drinking any and every kind of coffee (preferably Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee), wandering through beautiful museums, trying not to spend too much money at J.Crew, Anthropologie, and Chipotle, as well as watching any type of collegiate sport. I hope you enjoy my journey in the Queen City.

Artist Statement

My work is about making sense of everything I see, feel and experience. I love to paint with bright colors, whether it's with oil, acrylic, or water colors. I mix fabric dye with water to create bright and dreamy landscapes. I do however have a soft spot for minimalistic work and love to decorate around white walls. I want to create work that uplifts people. I want the viewer to see my work as something they would want to wake up to every morning or see in their kitchen and feel a sense of whimsy. I want my work to take their living space from a house to a home. While painting canvases are my main medium, I also like to create beautiful spaces that you want to come home to. Whether it's entering a calming bedroom or creating an indulgent coffee station in their kitchen, it's the little things in life that make all the difference.
